Don’t forget about your pool this winter…..

Even when the temps are low you still maintain your pool equipment and automatic pool cover —it's such an important part of extending its life. Here are a few more tips that could be helpful to ensure it stays in good shape:

  1. Clean and clear the cover regularly: Keeping debris like leaves, branches, or dirt off the cover helps prevent damage and keeps everything functioning properly. Be sure to  clear the cover from accumulated water and snow, which could weigh it down.

  2. Check for any wear or damage: Before winter fully sets in, inspect the cover for any tears, worn-out areas, or other damage that may need attention. Small issues can become big problems if left untreated.

  3. Monitor water levels: Keeping the pool water level about halfway up the skimmer is key. You may want to set a reminder to check the water level periodically throughout the winter, especially after heavy rainfall or snowmelt. You can check your water level by removing the lid of your skimmer even when the cover is closed.

  4. Follow manufacturer recommendations: Every pool cover is different, so make sure you're following the specific care instructions provided by the manufacturer to avoid any potential warranty issues. Many times weather related damages, like damage from too much snow, won’t be covered.

Taking a few simple steps now can help ensure your cover stays in top shape for years to come!
